This piece is called "The Chosen One", it is a self portrate. The mediums I used are yarn, gold leaf, acrilic, watercolor, and oil paint.
While looking at this piece ask yourself: Where do woman BELONG in the church? Under men? Is god a male or a felmale? Why? How come a woman cannot be a priest? Who pases down religon through out the generations?
Woman can be a part of the church but, under the male hierarchys. The Bible says god was a man but why? Woman can not be a priest and no logical reason has been given. Mothers generally are the voice that introduce religon to are youth but, again they maintain little to no power in the church.
I think the lady's eyes are the strongest part of this piece, because of the color. Since you painted the face very white, the dark colors of eyes pops out. Also, she looks very strong with her eye lines and eye brows.
ReplyDeleteI really like the background a lot. Even though the color of face and background is not that different, but face really pops out. I think this art work is very weel done.
